Your Timeline should look like this with all clips and titles and music:

Now add Transitions and put them BETWEEN video clips:

Now add to each shot:

At the beginning and end, right click each clip for Fade In/Fade Out:

  First Shot                 Last Shot and a star to indicate Fade
